Skimming around the surface of the water does look like awesome fun. BUT, what happens when you run out of gas? is there gas? I guess I’m not sure but they don’t address it in the FAQ either, lol. Oh well, it looks fun but I’m not dropping $130k for one for a couple reasons: it seems like it is something that would get old fast (you can only do the one thing it is made for and only 1 person fits on it), and 2, just save $130k and go move next door to someone that has one :D :D

Google_Wave_logo

It’s hard to tell if Wave — Google’s new collaborative, universal messaging platform — is revolutionary or simply, well, neat. It’s like a telephone, great when everyone else has one but not so useful if you’re the only one. At least that’s how it seems after watching the near-universally acclaimed demo presented at Google I/O back in May. Starting September 30th, Google will open up the beta to 100,000 of its closest friends. Just hit the appropriate read link below to register for an invite or click through to watch the 1 hour and 20 minute demonstration. Go ahead, work can wait, innovation can’t.

It looks like it combines IM chatting, texting, email, etc into one thing. Sounds awesome!

Cool HP ad

Michelin Tweel Airless Tires-good for ATVs and construction equipment.

Tweel is an innovative tire design created by Michelin. The tire uses no air and therefore cannot burst or become flat.

Instead, Tweel’s base is connected to shock-absorbing polyurethane spokes which are used to support the outer rim.

My concern is about car handling, it just doesnt seem like it would grip like conventional tires, that added flexibility in the Tweel looks like the car would dip more in hard turns. If the car dips more there is less stability. I could be wrong but then again it is not like they are talking about putting these on NASCAR Stock-cars. All in all, It looks pretty cool. Check out the video on TechEBlog, it shows a tweel getting hit by a small mine and then keeps going.

Scientists in the United States are developing a “synthetic tree” capable of collecting carbon around 1,000 times faster than the real thing.

I hope Hope HOPE this is a solid solution for some of the world’s “green” problems. I read the article and this is something that is not a concept, an early model has already been produced.

Each unit would take out a ton of CO2 a day — which would be the amount of CO2 produced by 20 average automobiles in the U.S.A. And the cost of each unit would be about the cost of a Toyota.

There are still a ton of questions but this certainly looks like something to explore.
